Rolling Process क्या है? – Types of Rolling Operations Explained

Rolling एक metal forming process है जिसमें metal को compressive forces से दो या अधिक rotating rolls के बीच pass करके desired thickness और shape में बदला जाता है। यह process high production rate और improved mechanical properties के लिए जाना जाता है।

🔹 Rolling Process के मुख्य उद्देश्य

• Metal thickness को reduce करना
• Metal की surface finish और strength improve करना
• Sheets, plates, bars, और structural shapes बनाना

🔹 Types of Rolling Process

1. Hot Rolling

इसमें metal को recrystallization temperature से ऊपर heat किया जाता है और फिर rolls के बीच pass किया जाता है। यह process scale formation और rough surface finish के बावजूद ज्यादा ductility और uniform structure देता है।

2. Cold Rolling

यह room temperature पर किया जाता है, जिससे product की surface finish और strength बढ़ जाती है। यह process कम thickness के sheet या strip बनाने के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है।

3. Flat Rolling

इसमें metal की thickness कम की जाती है लेकिन इसकी width में कोई खास बदलाव नहीं होता। Sheet और plate बनाने के लिए उपयोगी होता है।

4. Shape Rolling

इसमें roll का shape ऐसा होता है कि output में I-beam, U-channel, या rail जैसे specific structural sections बन सकें।

5. Thread Rolling

यह एक cold-forming process है जिसमें threads rolls के बीच बनाए जाते हैं। इससे stronger threads मिलते हैं क्योंकि grain flow disturb नहीं होता।

6. Ring Rolling

इसमें एक ring-shaped blank को rolls के बीच डालकर उसका diameter बढ़ाया जाता है और thickness कम की जाती है। यह bearing races और gears के लिए उपयोग होता है।
