1. Cupola Furnace की संरचना (Structure)

Cupola Furnace एक vertical cylindrical structure होता है जो अंदर से refractory lining से cover रहता है। इसमें नीचे की ओर tuyeres होते हैं जहाँ से air blast दी जाती है और ऊपर raw materials feed किए जाते हैं।

2. Cupola Furnace की Working Principle

Cupola Furnace में coke को fuel की तरह उपयोग किया जाता है। सबसे पहले furnace को preheat किया जाता है और फिर layers में coke, pig iron/scrap और flux डाले जाते हैं। नीचे से air blast दी जाती है जो coke को जलाकर high temperature produce करती है। इस heat से metal melt होकर नीचे एक reservoir में collect होता है।

3. Operation के Steps

✓ Charging: Raw materials को alternating layers में डालना – coke, metal और limestone (flux)।

✓ Combustion: Coke के जलने से intense heat generate होती है।

✓ Melting: Pig iron/scrap इस heat से melt होता है और नीचे collect होता है।

✓ Tapping: Molten metal को tap hole से निकालकर mold में डाला जाता है।

✓ Slag Removal: Impurities को slag hole से निकाला जाता है।
